Find Your Passion

Posted on

First and foremost, Happy Easter! Happy Resurrection! I hope you will enjoy or have enjoyed a wonderful day with your family!

Now, there is no better day to talk about passion, than Easter. The time of year when we reflect on what God did for us and how his passion for forgiveness and love for us led him to commit the ultimate sacrifice. The sacrifice of his one and only son, Jesus Christ. There is a countless number of successful people who have said that the one thing they recommend more than anything else is for people to discover their passion and turn that passion into a profession.

This is easier said than done when people are struggling just to find a job in order to pay their bills, but the rewards of pursuing the things you love are worth the sacrifices you make to get there. Sometimes, you may have to start a little slow to build up your passion/new profession and that's ok. What's most important is that you start- start somewhere!

When you are passionate about what you do, you're more likely to achieve the success you've always wanted because you'll enjoy what you're doing. That's not only essential for success but also for enjoying life. It took me a while to realize this in my own life. One of my favorite mantras and t-shirt design contains only 2 words- Do You! It's a reminder to follow your instincts, follow your heart, follow your own path. Stop doing things that you are not passionate about. Life is too short.

So, if you're passionate about baking, find a way to start a business on the side and grown it in until you can open up that bakery shop so that you can wake-up every morning working hard for your passion and your dreams, not someone else's. If you're passionate about music, find a way to get out there and share your talent with as many people as possible- whether that's auditioning for shows like The Voice or America's Got Talent, or open mic night, do something. I read an article that talked about success and grinding even when you don't feel like it. One piece of advice that was given said to have non-zero days. Meaning, every day do something small towards your passion but don't let a day go by without doing something. If there's something you're truly passionate it, this should be an easy task. So, if it's 11:59pm and you're lying in bed and you realize you haven't worked on your side gig all day, roll over and jot something down pertaining to the business.

So get out there and showcase your passion to the world!
